Welcome

Welcome friends. We're starting this blog to collect ideas and comments about the new EMDR documentary film that's being created. It's very important to us that this film reflect the wide interest in EMDR and speak to as many of the communities who use it and need it as possible. This special film will be a journey for all of us who are involved, and by the end we hope to create something that will be both a tool and a source of inspiration for therapists, doctors, clients, and anyone who wants to see a reduction in unnecessary mental suffering.

  2. Thank you for starting this blog. I've recently been interested in learning more about EMDR after hearing about it through friends who have benefited greatly from EMDR treatments. I would be curious to hear other stories and experiences from patients out there.

Do you already know the stories you will be following for the film?

  3. I am the associate producer of this film and have become more interested in EMDR the more I know about it. The scope of people this therapy reaches is amazing. I had the opportunity to interview some of the therapists at the EMDR conference in 2008, and I was struck by their level of excitment and passion about EMDR. It seemed they had so much hope for their clients. Hope for healing and for a better future. I am excited to delve deeper into this treatment as people come on board and support the film. I'm looking forward to hearing from others out there!

  4. Thank you for all of your great ideas and contributions. Carlin, thank you for the important question. No, we don't have all the stories finalized yet, but we're striving to find two compellingly unique stories of people struggling through well-known tragedies while also adding at least one story of a more personal nature, something that to some extent all of us can in some way relate to ourselves or via someone we know.

Nothing is set in stone yet with the project, but this is what we're hoping for.

As long as we can generate interest from conscientious individuals like you who can give their time and donation, we'll be well on our way. Thank you again, Michael

  5. Do EMDR therapists ever work proactively with disaster-relief organizations to set-up treatments for people involved in these tragedies. I'm thinking of my own experience here in Mumbai, where thousands of people witnessed the bloodshed involved in the Mumbai terror attacks a few months ago. It would be really interesting if that connection were in place. That would also help your project, in the sense that you could track the importance of such a connection by following these stories.
